The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, graced Arangetram 2026 as the Chief Guest, organised by the Kalalaya International Institute of Dance & Music Trust on 22 August 2026. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy High Commissioner commended the young artistes, Bhavya and Lahari, on this significant milestone in their artistic journey and acknowledged the dedication, discipline and perseverance reflected in their Arangetram. He highlighted the enduring historical, cultural and people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and India, noting that cultural and artistic engagements serve as an important bridge in fostering friendship, mutual understanding and closer relations between the two countries. The Deputy High Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of the organisers, teachers and parents in nurturing young talent and preserving the rich traditions of classical dance. He extended his best wishes to Bhavya and Lahari for continued success and a fulfilling journey in the field of arts.
