The Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ayudha Pooja at the Post premises on 14th October 2026, in keeping with this cherished Hindu tradition. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Dr. T. S. Shanmugam Sivachariar Swami, Chief Priest of Sri Kaligambal Kamateshwara Devasthanam Hindu Temple, who performed the pooja rituals and blessed the official vehicles and office equipment used by the staff. Ayudha Pooja is a traditional Hindu observance that expresses gratitude and respect for the tools, instruments and resources that support our professional and daily lives. The occasion also honours Goddess Durga, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi, symbolising strength, wisdom and prosperity.
