Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai, participated in NAMASTE ASIA – South India Meets Asia 2026, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 29 September 2026 in Chennai, under the theme “Building Partnerships for Asia’s Next Growth Story.” The Summit brought together diplomats, business leaders, government representatives and industry stakeholders from India and across Asia to explore opportunities for strengthening regional trade, investment and economic partnerships. During the Summit, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran delivered remarks, highlighting the importance of strengthening India–Sri Lanka economic engagement, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and fostering greater cooperation between South India and Sri Lanka. Ms. A. M. H. K. Premathilaka, First Secretary (Commerce), and Mr. Pasan Kavikeshawa, Second Secretary, also participated in the Summit, representing the Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka, and engaged with members of the business, industry and diplomatic communities. The Summit also witnessed the participation of representatives from Sri Lankan companies operating in India, including MAS India and Macksons Paints India Pvt. Ltd. Their participation contributed to strengthening business-to-business engagement and identifying opportunities for greater trade, investment and commercial cooperation between Sri Lanka and South India. The participation of the Deputy High Commission provided a valuable platform to highlight Sri Lanka’s economic and investment opportunities and to further strengthen business and institutional linkages between Sri Lanka, South India and the wider Asian region.
