Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, Deputy
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka for Southern India, participated in the
Teachers’ Day Celebration organised by Kind Trust, honouring the dedication and
invaluable contribution of teachers to society on 6th September
- Addressing the gathering, the Deputy High Commissioner commended the
organisers for bringing together more than 100 teachers to recognise their
commitment to shaping the lives and future of younger generations. He
highlighted the important role of teachers in nurturing knowledge, confidence,
discipline, character and values, noting that the influence of a good teacher
extends far beyond the classroom. The Deputy High Commissioner also emphasised
the role of education and knowledge exchange in strengthening the enduring
bonds between Sri Lanka and India, founded on centuries of shared history,
culture, traditions and people-to-people connections.
